Your Choice of Sports Channels

Sky is the home of sports including hundreds of live and exclusive Premiership football matches, UEFA Champions League as well as the Npower sponsored Championship, Leagues one and two. There are over 100 channels that can be accessed depending on your subscription.

High Definition Digital Channels

There are a plethora of channels now broadcasting in HD or high definition in the UK and Ireland. You’ll receive the majority as part of your standard package while some are free-to-air such as the BBC and ITV channels. Premium HD channels require a subscription with access from your online TV guide. Below are some options to consider:

The premium channels include Sky Sports, the Discovery Channel, National Geographic and Sky Movies. Free-to-air HD channels include Sky News HD, Sky Arts, BBC, ITV, E4, Five, and Channel4. If you already have an “HD Ready” television, you can upgrade to receive HD via the call centre or online. You’ll then be able to take advantage of the improved picture quality that HD has to offer.

Your Free Sky Q Box

When you subscribe to any package, you’ll also receive a set-top box as part of the installation process. All boxes are pre-programmed for advanced features including recording, HD reception and 3D channels.

The new boxes also work with all the high definition channels. If you decide to upgrade at a later date, you won’t need to change your box as it’s future-proofed for developing technology.

This innovation from Sky is also available for use with Freeview, but this box sets everything apart. You also get access to a comprehensive seven-day TV guide. To record a programme simply select it from the guide and it’ll record automatically. You no longer need to set start and finish times, nor enter clumsy codes.

Additionally, you can set it up as a series link. Once set, it’ll automatically record all programmes in a series the following day or week whenever the next episode is due. You don’t need to worry if TV scheduling changes the time or day because the box always knows when the next instalment is due.
